Reviews and Accolades

Ahead of the 2021 International Youth Arts Festival, located in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Charlotte has been awarded Best New Horror Film, with leading panelist judge, Robert O'Dowd of the Rose Theatre calling it 'a stunning new take on the classic horror movie- a must-see for any fans of true crime.' O'Dowd also commented on the location used for filming 'Claremont Fan Court School is a beautiful location with a tragic past- Charlotte is enhanced by its use of real events that serve the insidious plot.'

Charlotte has also been shortlisted for Best Newcomer by the British Independent Film Awards. 'Charlotte is a fresh call-back to films such as The Blair Witch Project, making it accessible to new horror fans as well as the traditional fans. Charlotte appeals to everyone with its superb reversal of the gender roles and strong message throughout."

A fellow teenager, Leah O'Grady, who worked with director and lead actor, Christina Taylor, in her directorial debut, Fallen, attended the first screening of the film and said 'Christina Taylor's direction was amazing- every twist in the story fit with the horror genre tropes but weren't obvious to the audience until they happened.'
